Self-Guided Trail Rides

Lynx Lake Guided Tour

The Peavine Trail

Approximately 2 HOURS $50.00
Difficulty: Easy

The Peavine Trail is one of Prescott’s few "Rails to Trails" projects. It offers amazing views of Watson Lake and the Granite Dells for about six miles. It was built by the Santa Fe Railway in 1893. About a mile into the trail along the south side of Watson Lake it curves around to reach the Granite Dells. It also connects with the Iron King Trail at the "Point of Rocks" where you can see the historical marker showing a photo of the identical view taken about 100 years ago. It is at this fork on the road where you can decide whether to continue on the Peavine Trail for about 3-4 more miles or stay to the right of the fork and take the Iron King Trail.

We recommend that you complete the Peavine Trail to its end near Prescott’s Municipal Airport. You will see a covered railroad bridge where a two lane road runs underneath you and private property starts beyond this point. Please do not trespass, instead head back to Point of Rocks and take the Iron King Trail. There is plenty of time in our 2-hour "Show Up and Ride" self-guided tour to possibly do both.

Riding on one of our e-bikes is by far the BEST way to discover these two amazing historical gems.

Lynx Lake Guided Tour

The Iron King Trail

Approximately 2 HOURS $50.00
Difficulty: Easy

The Iron King Trail is just off of the Peavine Trail where it comes to a fork called the "Point of Rocks". Stay to the right at the Point of Rocks and you will enter the Iron King Trail, part of our "Rails to Trails" program. It’s a fascinating ride! Along the way, every now and then you will see old railroad cars marking the hard work and tenacity of the old west. There is something ghostly and mystical about these old relics, observing and watching time go by for over 100 years. As you ride through with ease on our pedal assist electric bikes, you will see mountain ranges and beautiful hills in the far yonder. It's a dessert lover’s paradise.

You will conclude your half-way journey in the town of Prescott Valley reaching Glassford Hill Road. This will be your turn around point back to the Peavine trailhead. There is plenty of time in our 2-hour "Show Up and Ride" self-guided tour to possibly do both.

Riding on one of our e-bikes is by far the BEST way to discover these two amazing historical gems.
